Thank You!

Good Day, Friend of Mitico!

I like November. It is the month when we can take a step back and reflect on the year that is arriving to an end and plan what is ahead. It is also the perfect month to thank all of you that make my job so rewarding. When Alan, Léopold, and I embarked on the Mitico journey just three years ago out of Caltech, we were told the road was going to be bumpy but rewarding. I am proud to see what was accomplished over these past years and I am energized and excited for what lies ahead.

Commercializing hard-tech is not a simple task. Future-proofing the energy of tomorrow sounds a bit presumptuous but this is what climate tech is about. Carbon emission reduction requirements cannot happen without security, affordability, and environmental friendliness – but we’re on it!

Over the past three years, we brought a laboratory experiment into a fully operating system capturing CO2 in a refinery in Thailand. With support from our customers and field partners, the Mitico Centennial system brings carbon circularity closer to reality. Our next flagship Centennial project is packed and ready to go to NRCAN canmetENERGY Ottawa for demonstration at boilers, turbines, and other combustion processes.

As we enter the final quarter of the year, our focus remains on validating our next-generation carbon capture systems, strengthening strategic partnerships across the globe, and preparing the groundwork for our upcoming Opportunity Round. Thank you for your support, Friend of Mitico, and I look forward to 2026 together again!

Clément Cid, CEO of Mitico

Immediate R&D opportunity with Mitico

We’re seeking a talented researcher interested in applying with us for a research program in Switzerland! This position will be hosted by HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Sion, under the guidance of Professor Mathieu Soutrenon.

The position focuses on advanced solid sorbents for carbon capture, a key technology at the center of Mitico CarbionikTM solution. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with us and contribute directly to our mission of decarbonizing industry through innovative carbon capture solutions.

  • Application deadline: December 2025
  • Start in Q1 2026 for a period of 12 months
  • If you or know someone who would be interested please reach out to Nur at: coordinator@mitico.tech

Technology scale-up milestones

Untitled (1)
  • De-risking: Our engineering and data teams are extending system validation in industrial settings at a refinery and relevant test facilities in Ottawa to completely reach TRL 7.

  • Durability and performance: Our operation team is performing extended tests to confirm durability with full operations from October 2025. Mitico Carbionik™ proprietary sorbent from pre-production trials is being used.

  • Commercial validation: We continue to identify and work with industrial partners for Denali, Mitico’s larger modular CO2 capture system, engineered to process up to 8 tons of CO2 per day per module. Interested? You can reach out to us here.

Strategic partnerships and global expansion

Since our acceptance into the Hub71+ ClimateTech, Mitico has taken major strides in expanding its footprint in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with the formation of Mitico Abtikar. Hub71, backed by Mubadala, ADNOC, and global partners like Microsoft, Siemens Energy, and SoftBank, offers an unparalleled platform for high-growth climate tech ventures. Through the program, Mitico is engaging with leading energy and infrastructure players to identify opportunities for project deployments and joint ventures in the Gulf region.

Beyond the Middle East, Mitico continues to strengthen its ecosystem of partners in Europe and North America. Our team was recently selected as a Finalist of the Snam HyAccelerator [link to press release] and is undergoing a feasibility study with the support of Snam SpA to decarbonize key energy assets in the region.

Coming soon: CCUS for small industrial emitters

Mitico’s technical white paper is in the final review stage. The document reveals how post-combustion carbon capture is moving from concept to action even for small emitters. We compiled data and policy analyses, pilot learnings, and cost modeling to articulate Mitico’s path to scalable, affordable carbon capture. At its core is Mitico Denali — a breakthrough modular system that makes carbon capture affordable, scalable, and easy to deploy across industrial sites of any size. With its cutting-edge Carbionik™ sorbent technology and automated operation, Denali empowers companies to decarbonize faster, cleaner, and smarter — turning climate goals into real, measurable impact.

Mitico-X: Clément Bernard (Mitico International)

Clément Barnard leads Business Development for Mitico International, spearheading partnerships and growth across Europe and the Middle East. Currently based in Abu Dhabi for the Hub71 accelerator program, he’s been representing Mitico at high-impact events, connecting with investors, and showcasing our technology to global audiences. Known for his energy, humor, and collaborative spirit, Clément brings both business acumen and a deep sense of team culture to Mitico’s international expansion.

1️⃣ What’s your role at Mitico and what are you currently focused on?

I’m in charge of Business Development for Mitico International, building commercial relationships across Europe and the Middle East. Right now, I’m focused on the Hub71 program in Abu Dhabi—a three-month initiative backed by Mubadala that helps promising startups establish themselves in the UAE. My day-to-day includes workshops, conferences, and lots of pitch sessions with corporates and investors.

2️⃣ What do you enjoy most about your work or team?

The international spirit. It’s rare for such a young startup to be this global—our team brings diverse nationalities and backgrounds (with a strong French contingent 💪), and we’re literally spread across the world. Time zones can be tricky but Mitico is a company where the sun never sets!

3️⃣ What’s been a proud or memorable moment for you recently?

Representing Mitico at the Hub71 Impact event, where we had our own booth. It was a proud moment to showcase what we do, meet influential local stakeholders—and I was even interviewed by Korean TV for a feature on innovative environmental solutions.

4️⃣ Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing or what inspires you?

I played a lot of rugby growing up, which gave me a deep appreciation for team spirit and collective adventures. That carried into entrepreneurship: I’m energized by being around founders who build and scale companies—teams, essentially. I also dedicate part of my time in France to supporting SME leaders as they prepare to hand over their businesses to the next generation

5️⃣ A quote, motto, or fun fact?

Fun fact: people often confuse me with our CEO, Clément Cid—so every now and then I get “promoted” to CEO on the spot. 😄
